Issue

  • Database backup jobs fail with DB discovery error under one SnapCenter (SC) user while the same job succeeds when run by a different SC user
  • During backup failure, following DB discovery error is seen:
    Activity 'Discovering Oracle Database Files' failed with error: Discovery failed for object AFEPROD with error PL-SCO-20006: Discovery of database files failed for database AFEPROD on host cgyprdodb03.taqanorth.local with error ORACLE-10005: Cannot connect to database instance AFEPROD using JDBC connect string jdbc:oracle:thin:sys/XXXXXXXX@(DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = cgyprdodb03.taqanorth.local)(PORT = 1521)))(CONNECT_DATA = (SID = AFEPROD))). Error: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
