Oracle database backup fails with error "The database must be in archivelog mode to create a log only backup"

Issue

Single database fails with the following messages:
 

'Discovering Oracle Database Files' failed with error: Discovery failed for object <objectname> with error PL-SCO-20006: Discovery of database files failed for database <database name> on host <host name> with error PL-SCO-20002: Failed to create log only backup. The database must be in archivelog mode to create a log only backup..

"Activity 'Finalizing Oracle Database Backup' failed with error: PostBackupActivity contains warnings: PL-SCO-20047: Skipped archivelog pruning because logbackup failed for the database <database name>."

Activity 'Send EMS Messages' failed with error: Unable to find storage system for given resources. EMS message instead sent to the storage connection accessible by this user:<user name>
