How to determine the correct SnapCenter license needed

There are 3 types of licenses for SnapCenter and they are for 3 distinct functions within SnapCenter
License Type:
1. Standard Controller-Based:
- Used for FAS and AFF systems
- Licensed on the controller
- Part of the Premium Bundle
- SnapManager Suite license can be used
2. Standard Capacity-Based:
- Used for ONTAP Cloud and ONTAP Select
- SnapCenter server-base
- Capacity-based
- SnapCenter managed storage on primary
- Storage is considered "managed" when protected
3. NAS File Services Capacity-Based (SnapCenter 2.0 - 3.0.1 Only):
- SnapCenter server-based
- Capacity-based
- SnapCenter managed storage on primary
- Storage is considered "managed" when protected
- Standard license not required
Additional Information
Storage Type:
- FAS and/or AFF:
- Requires the Standard Controller-Base license
- SnapManagerSuite license will work
- SNAPCTR_STANDARD license is what will show on mysupport.netapp.com
- Shows up on Storage as SnapMangerSuite
- Requires the Standard Controller-Base license
NOTE: This license is entered and stored on the Storage Controller
- ONTAP Cloud and/or ONTAP Select:
- Requires the Standard Capacity-Base License
- SnapManager Suite license does not work
- Requires the Standard Capacity-Base License
