Guest File Restore wizard of SCV not list any proxy VM names

Applies to

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere (SCV) 4.7
  • Removed a virtual machine that is used as SCV proxy VM from ESXi
  • A large number of VMs are running

Issue

  • Use Guest File Restore proxy VM option of Guest File Restore wizard doesn't list any proxy VM names
  • Proxy Credentials section of Guest File Restore page cannot be extracted
  • vmcontrol.log shows messages:

c.n.a.v.VsphereInventoryService          : Searching all virtual machine managed entities
c.n.a.v.VsphereInventoryService          : [JobId:0] VM not found, setting as null
  :
c.n.a.v.VsphereInventoryService          : [JobId:0] VM not found, setting as null
c.n.a.v.VsphereInventoryService          : [JobId:0] VM not found, setting as null
