Issue

  • After successful MountCloneResponse,  clone volume is created successfully & volume details are requested from ONTAP
  • During that time frame, it is possible that the junction path details are not yet ready for the newly created clone volume
  • The empty junction path is eventually passed over for the subsequent mounting operation (SmCreateCloneRequest), which causes the TimeOut in SPL log:

'SmCreateCloneResponse'_message
Mounting the filesystem ' var opt snapcenter sco backup_mount Oracle-XXX 1' failed, reason: mount.nfs: Connection timed out
ERROR: SCUPlugin: 191: SCU::Utils::Logger::set_and_log_error(): Mounting the filesystem '/var/opt/snapcenter/sco/backup_mount/Oracle-XXX 1/Server1/1' failed, reason: mount.nfs: Connection timed out

  • During the same time in SMCORE log:

ERROR SMCore_1234 PID=[1234] TID=[1] Volume junction path existance check in clone create Failed, retrying attempt 1
