Fails to extend VMware VMFS datastore through the vCenter

Issue

  1. The LUN device has been expanded from the backend SAN storage/ONTAP
  2. Cluster level rescan has to be triggered on all the clusters where device is visible through vCenter 
  3. Navigate to the Datastore View and select the Datastore, and navigate to Configure > Device Backing and select the Extent Name, the Device Details  has reflected the update capacity basis the expansion done from the ONTAP.
  4. When expand the VMFS volume  through the vCenter GUI , there are no available devices to select on "Select device" page
