COTV-9096: SRA failback fails on the first attempt because Identity field in SRA XML response is empty

Issue

  • While VMware Live Site Recovery (VLSR) failover from the main site to the backup site completes successfully, the first failback attempt from the backup site to the main site fails with the following error in the VMware Storage Replication Adapter (SRA) response returned by ONTAP tools for VMware vSphere (OTV):
    Failed to promote replica devices. A general system error occurred: N2Dr3Xml20XmlValidateExceptionE empty content is not valid for content model '(((Eui64,Nguid)|Wwn|NfsName|Lun+|Eui64|Nguid|Uuid))' (1)

  • OTV returns the SRA XML response with an empty <Identity> element to VLSR.
