Answer

  • This is a dedicated service account created for new cloud agent connections
  • This service account exists in ONTAP 9.14.1 or later.
  • This is a read-only account by default, using the readonly role.
  • This service account name cannot be changed or otherwise modified.
  • This new service account user is per cloud agent connection.
  • Up to three cloud agent connections are supported, each connection uses a unique service account.
  • The service accounts will not be reused for other connections.
  • Old, unused service accounts (if they exist) can be deleted.
  • Deleting a service account that is currently in use will break the cloud agent connection.
