Answer
- The acquisition recordings folder has recording files for all monitored clusters.
- At the end of each cluster data acquisition cycle, a set of logs is produced (and saved as a recording file) and can be used to trace through the acquisition process.
- These recordings are stored as .zip archives under the following path and are included in support bundles.
/var/log/ocie/recording
(for Linux operating systems)-
\ProgramData\NetApp\OnCommandAppData\au\recording
(for Windows operating system)
- Acquisition recording archives are named as below.
netappfoundation_<datasource_name_or_ip>_<yyyy_mm_dd_hh_mm_ss_milliseconds>.zip
netappstorageperformance_<datasource_name_or_ip>_<yyyy_mm_dd_hh_mm_ss_milliseconds>.zip
- It is generally beneficial to keep all recording files, in case there a future analysis will require reviewing any of them.
- With AIQUM running as a virtual appliance (vApp) on VMware ESXi, older recording files are deleted once it reaches 3GB.
- As AIQUM running on a Windows or Linux server doesn't have a feature of automatically pruning recording files, manual deletion is needed.
- In the event of a full file system, older recording files can be deleted. It is best practice to keep at least 1 month's worth of recording files in this directory.
