AIQUM gets hung due to external scanners or scripts

Issue

  • AIQUM  gets hung at a particular time of day/week
  • Gaps are seen in performance charts in AIQUM
  • AIQUM GUI is slow or unresponsive
  • Rediscover of cluster gets stuck
  • Spikes in CPU usage seen
  • journalctl : "kernel: Rate limit exceeded" every few seconds or minutes
  • Journacctl has traces of external scripts:
    > /opt/BACaml/scripts/update_aml.py --update --random_delay=14m # Added by
    > BACaml package)
  • Packet capture shows monitoring tool constantly communicating with AIQUM over a certain port
  • Reboot temporarily resolves the issue
