HANA backups fail during DB quiesce/unquiesce operations with "error SCF-00037 Application quiesce for plug-in hana failed with error and exit code1 Exiting"

Issue

Backup jobs for HANA DBs are failing either during HANA DB quiesce or unquiesce operations.

 

During the quiesce of the database the following error messages will be seen:

  • ERROR: [hostname:9090 (4.3.0.0)] Quiesce failed with error
  • ERROR: [hostname:9090(4.3.0.0)] SCF-00037: Application quiesce for plug-in [hana] failed with error [] and exit code [1], Exiting!

During the unquiesce of the database the following error messages will be seen:

  • ERROR: [hostname:9090 (4.3.0.0)] Another unquiesce operation is already running on this profile/config
  • ERROR: [hostname:9090(4.3.0.0)] SCF-00032: Application unquiesce failed due to application error.
