Applies to

Issue

  • SnapManager for SQL (SMSQL) backups occasionally fail and time out after 10 minutes.
  • During those 10 minutes, the SQL server instance being backed up does not respond to queries, which creates an unwanted outage of 10 minutes.

[11:12:20.867] [MySQLServer1] [SnapDrive Error]: Creation of backup
(sqlsnap__MySQLServer1_03-14-2014_11.00.49) failed. Reason: (The request channel timed out while
waiting for a reply after 00:10:00. Increase the timeout value passed to the call to Request or increase
the SendTimeout value on the Binding. The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a
longer timeout.).
