ORA-01017 invalid username password; logon denied using database authentication

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Oracle (SCO) 4.x

  • SnapManager for SAP (SMSAP) 3.4.2P3


Initial setup in SnapCenter for Oracle database authentiction and RMAN authentication fail with this error:

Failed - Configure Oracle database settings: PL-SCO-40006: Unable to authenticate.
ORACLE-10005: Cannot connect to database Instance <SID> using JDBC connect string
(SID=<SID>))). Error: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied

SMO/SMSAP Clone fails with the following error:

ORACLE-10005: Cannot connect to database instance NETAPP using JDBC connect
string jdbc:oracle:thin:sys/XXXXXXXX@(DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = <host_name>)(PORT = 1521)))(CONNECT_DATA = (SID = cdspcop3))).
Error: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
