Transition of 7-Mode SnapLock Mirror fails to resync in ONTAP 9

Issue

  • SnapMirror Resync of the new SnapLock source and destination  fails with the following  errors:

Transfer Error: Cannot resync non-transitioned volume "SVMDest:DestVol" from a non-DR clustered source. Use the "snapmirror break” command on volume "SVMDest:DestVol" to complete the transition operation.

  • However, after the break of the TDP the resync still fails with:

Transfer Error: Cannot restore volume "SVMDest:DestVol" to Snap has a legacy-style inofile. Such a Snapshot copy is not supported for this operation.
