Issue

  • Unable to access all CIFS share on a specific Vfiler after performing a take over give back
  • Users gets the following error message  Windows cannot access \\<share name>
  • EMS logs reporting constant nameservice request timed out Netapp

ExportPool06:export.host.resolve.timeout:warning]: Trial 3 for the nameservice lookup request timed out.               [filr@hostname:ExportPool06: export.host.resolve.timeout:warning]: Trial 1 for the nameservice lookup request timed out.

  • The vfiler impacted is unable to reach DNS and query for LDAP records
  • The output of Vfiler status -r command shows the impacted vfiler as unconfigured
