7-mode node performs an emergency shutdown and takeover occurs

Issue

  • 7-mode node has an unexpected shutdown
  • SP version is on a release below SP 1.6, 2.4, 3.2, 4.0, 5.0
  • SP has not been rebooted in more than 300 days
  • The following are examples of the event messages seen before the shutdown:
    env_mgr: monitor.temp.unreadable:info]: The controller temperature (In Flow Temp) is not readable.
    env_mgr: monitor.temp.unreadable:info]: The controller temperature (PCI Riser_R Temp) is not readable.
    env_mgr: monitor.temp.unreadable:info]: The controller temperature (Smart Bat Temp) is not readable.
    env_mgr: monitor.power.unreadable:info]: A power sensor 12V STBY in the controller module is not readable.
    env_mgr: monitor.power.unreadable:info]: A power sensor 12V STBY Curr in the controller module is not readable.
    env_mgr: monitor.chassisPowerSupply.degraded:notice]: Chassis power supply 1 is degraded: PSU1 Fan1 Speed is Unreadable
    env_mgr: monitor.chassisPowerSupply.degraded:notice]: Chassis power supply 1 is degraded: PSU1 Fan1 Fault is Unreadable
    monitor.shutdown.emergency:EMERGENCY]: Emergency shutdown: Environmental Reason Shutdown (Temperature critical)
