Issue

  • AutoSupport reports the following alert during an ONTAP upgrade.
   HA Group Notification (SPARES_LOW) ERROR Manual Upload
   
  Pool0 spare disks

  RAID Disk    Device      HA  SHELF BAY CHAN Pool Type  RPM  Used (MB/blks)    Phys (MB/blks)

  Spare disks for block checksum

  • The number of available spare disks temporarily decreases.
  • RAID groups remain healthy and online.
  • No disk media errors, checksum errors, or parity inconsistencies are observed.
  • The spare disk returns to a normal fast zeroed spare state after the upgrade process completes.
