Answer

  • When deploying a Cloud Volumes ONTAP (CVO) instance via BlueXP,  if "Monitoring" is set as enabled, an acquisition unit for DII is automatically deployed
  • The name of the deployed acquisition unit EC2 instance will be in the CloudInsights-AU-xxxxxxxx format. a DII VM will also be created
  • If monitoring via DII is no longer desired, or the trial period for the DII trial subscription has ended, the acquisition unit and DII EC2 instance can be safely terminated
  • Similarly, a Cloud Compliance EC2 instance will be deployed if "Classification" is chosen during  CVO deployment
  • This can also be removed if Classification or Compliance is not in use
