Unable to install NetApp agent with SSLHandshakeException PKIX path building failed

Issue

  • After updating the proxy certificate, the agent became inactive and could not communicate with the SaaS layer.
  • The local UI prompted for proxy configuration but could not recover connectivity.
  • Attempts to reinstall the connector on version 4.0 failed with the error below observed on cloudmanager_credentials container logs:

[ERROR][com.cloudmanager.common.actor.ServiceTokenBehavior][]-failed to generate token with error: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target {akkaAddress=akka://cloudmanager_credentials, akkaSource=akka://cloudmanager_credentials/user/service-token, sourceActorSystem=cloudmanager_credentials}
