Issue

  • When activating CHAP between OpenStack and NetApp storage:

Unable to create attachment for volume (Bad or unexpected response from the storage volume backend API: Driver initialize connection failed (error: Bad or unexpected response from the storage volume backend API: Failed to set CHAP authentication for target IQN <iqn_name>. Details: Unexpected output. Expected [Password:] but received [b\'Last login time: 1/3/2025 11:32:55\\r\\r\\n\\x07\\r\\nError: invalid argument "-vserver"\']).). (HTTP 500) (Request-ID: req-a376f778-dd74-4cd2-b03b-8eeddc133dbe)\n'].

  • On the ONTAP CLI, vserver iscsi security show -vserver <vserver_name> shows no configurations for CHAP
