Answer

  • No, Microsoft Azure VM extentions are not supported on CVO, though CVO VM shows as Linux (ONTAP version) on Azure portal, it is not Linux per say.
  • ONTAP leverages a highly customized derivative of the FreeBSD operating system.
  • FreeBSD is not a supported Operating System as per Microsoft OMI documentation
  • If Liunx extentions are found on CVO VM, they can be removed from the CVO resourcegroup -> deployment -> extention related deployment by over-riding the lock on resource-group temporarily.

Additional Information

ONTAP should be detected as ONTAP and not FreeBSD/Unix/Linux
