Answer

The only encryption software GFC includes is OpenSSL for data in flight encryption using SSL/TLS tunnels. However, NetApp recommends that customers use their own private networks or VPNs to protect the traffic due to the performance penalty incurred by using SSL.

GFC does not encrypt data at rest, and customers desiring data at rest encryption use their own encryption solutions such as BitLocker.
