Issue

  • Tridentsize mismatch between the LUN on storage and the PVC in Kubernetes.
  • The Trident backend has spaceAllocation: true enabled which allows deleted items to be reclaimed. 
  • As files are deleted and space is cleared in the pod, ONTAP is not reclaiming the space and not accurately displaying storage utilization % in ONTAP System Manager or CLI.
