Trident CSI Operator Installation Failure on OCP 4.21

Issue

  • When installing the Trident CSI Operator on a newlydeployed OCP 4.21 cluster, the installation fails with the follwing error message: 

Warning Failed          16m (x12 over 17m)         kubelet            Error: ImageInspectError
  Normal   Created         <invalid> (x9 over 16m)    kubelet            Created container: csi-provisioner
  Warning  InspectFailed   <invalid> (x152 over 17m)  kubelet         Failed to inspect image "": rpc error: code = Unknown desc = short name mode is enforcing, but image name netapp/trident:25.10.0 returns ambiguous list

  • As a result, Trident images cannot be pulled, and the CSI Operator installation does not complete.
