Node booting in Aptio Setup Utility and not progressing to LOADER or ONTAP

Issue

  • Aptio Setup Utility menu when booting the node.

Aptio Setup Utility

  • No LOADER> prompt or ONTAP boot when pressing ESC (the node comes back to this menu)
    • In some ocasions, the following error messages can be found:
      • ERROR: [D9] Boot option loading failed
      • Error reading from serial device
      • or ERROR: ATA device failure
    • In those situations, if the Aptio screen is not seen, these errors alone do not indicate the issue described in this article
