Answer

  • For firmwaredownload to be non-disruptive on a Brocade X6 switch the command hashow needs to show all blades HA state is synchronized.
switch:admin> hashow
Local CP (Slot 5, CP0): Active, Warm Recovered
Remote CP (Slot 6, CP1): Standby, Healthy
HA enabled, Heartbeat Up, HA State synchronized
 
  • Standby CP is expected to have the upgrade performed first.
  • This allows the Standby CP to take over the Active CP once it is complete.
  • If the HA State is unsynchronized you can attempt to resynchronize by using command hasyncstart
