Two FC ports disconnected and not connecting to ONTAP node

Issue

  • ONTAP node became disconnected on two target ports; no target side troubleshooting has impacted the state
  • Ports have experienced credit loss and subsequent resets with increasing frequency in the last few months.
  • Issue gets temporarily fixed, when a node reboot is performed. 
Examples:
 
Switch:
CHASSIS, WARNING, BrocadeG610,  Link Reset on Port S0,P2(19) vc_no=0 crd(s)lost=6 auto trigger.
 
ONTAP:
fct_tpd_work_thread_0: scsitarget.ispfct.cttimeout:debug]: FC HBA 0e nport 2031 timed out while transmitting common transport frame of type 0x1 and command code GIEL.
