Answer

The default management port IP addresses for each controller is shown below.

Management Port  Controller A Controller B
1 192.168.128.101 192.168.128.102
2 192.168.129.101 192.168.129.102

Note: Default IP addresses are in the form 192.168.XXX.10Y, where:
XXX = 128 is the first port and 129 is the second port on a controller.
Y      = 1 is for controller A and 2 is for controller B.

During the controller(s) boot process, if:

  • The Ethernet link is up/online and there is a DHCP server (DHCP enabled by default on the controllers), the DHCP server will assign an IP and subnet mask per the DHCP server settings.
  • The ethernet link is up/online and there is no DHCP server, the default IP and subnet mask will be assigned (after a DHCP timeout period of 3 minutes) - the following are the default network configuration parameters:
    Controller 1 (port 1):  IP Address : 192.168.128.101     Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
    Controller 1 (port 2):  IP Address : 192.168.129.101     Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
    Controller 2 (port 1):  IP Address : 192.168.128.102     Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
    Controller 2 (port 2):  IP Address : 192.168.129.102     Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
  • The Ethernet link is down and the IP and subnet mask values display '0.0.0.0' in netCfgShow, it signifies that no IP or subnet mask has been set, not that the IP and subnet mask is a value of '0.0.0.0'. This will be seen in the netCfgShow output, as displayed in the following example:
    -> netCfgShow
    ==== CURRENT NETWORK CONFIGURATION ====

     '*' indicates a dynamically assigned or default address
    value = 58 = 0x3a = ':'
  • A user sets the IP and subnet mask manually, all of the above behavior will be overridden and the static values assigned will persist.

Note: Prior to Controller Firmware 07.70.xx.xx, the controllers were pre-configured with a static IP/subnet. In case of a persistent network configuration issue, contact a technical support representative for assistance.
