Answer

Yes, E-Series arrays will send a SNMP alert to the monitoring service whenever the "Needs Attention" status changes on the array.  These are not shown in the Major Event Log of the array.

Example SNMP packet sent from the array to change the Needs Attention status to a 1 (on) value:

11:07:50.702979 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 53, id 31823, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 126)
    10.137.19.231.49404 > location.net.testbed.dcn.snmptrap:  { SNMPv2c C="AF_community" { V2Trap(77) R=1172252236  system.sysUpTime.0=5819126 S:1.1.4.1.0=S:1.1.5.1 E:789.1123.2.500.1.7=1 } }

Example SNMP packet sent from the array to change the Needs Attention status to 0 (off) value:

11:11:19.455228 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 53, id 64055, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 126)
    10.137.19.231.33203 > location.net.testbed.dcn.snmptrap:  { SNMPv2c C="AF_community" { V2Trap(77) R=1172252238  system.sysUpTime.0=5840001 S:1.1.4.1.0=S:1.1.5.1 E:789.1123.2.500.1.7=0 } }
