Answer
A volume's security style should not change on its own.
There are 3 reasons a volume's security style could change:
- a user modified the volume's security style
- check the
AUDIT-MLOG-TXT.GZ
in autosupports for volume modify commands
- check the
- a restore from snapshot was performed
- check
MGWD.GZ
in autosupports for zapi (client application or OnCommand product) and vss (previous versions) calls
- check
- volume is the destination of a snapmirror relationship
- check
SNAPMIRROR-DESTINATION.XML
to see if the volume is a destination or source of a snapmirror relationship
- check
Additional Information
- Enabling CIFS protocol on the SVM will not modify volume or qtree secuirty style.
