Top ESXi known issues/workarounds/best practices for NFSv4.1
  • The following are the top known issues, workarounds, and best practices for ESX/ESXi NFSv4.1 clients, when used with NetApp FAS controllers running clustered Data ONTAP:
    • Issue:IPv6 mounted volumes with AUTH_SYS security flavor might become inaccessible after performing Non-disruptive Operations (NDO). The occurrence is sporadic; and in this period of time, IO might be stalled on the respective volumes.
    • Workaround:
      • The user has to unmount the inaccessible volume and remount it.
    • Note: IPv6 with SEC_KRB5 security flavor is not a supported configuration by VMware.
