Storage Virtual Machines DR  stop after a cluster reboot or an unplanned power outage

  • Storage Virtual Machine Disaster Recovery (SVM-DR)

Issue

  • No data access to the SVM
  • Down/Offline nfs/cifs/iscsi/fcp network interfaces (LIFs)
  • Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs) are stopped after all nodes in an SVM-DR are rebooted for any of the following:
    • Environmental Shutdown (such as overtemp)
    • Power maintenance or failure
    • Equipment migration or other maintenance
    • Other issues that result in a shut down of all nodes
  • The destination SVM was not activated
  • Attempting to start the Vservers result in the following error:

::> vserver start -vserver vserver1

Error: command failed: Failed to start Vserver "vserver1" because the management configuration for this Vserver is locked. Starting a locked Vserver can cause data access issues. To start the Vserver specify "-force".

  • Attempting to modify any configuration within a Vserver results in the following error:

::> Volume snapshot policy modify -vserver "vserver1" -policy snap_Default -enabled false

Error: command failed: Changes to the Vserver configuration are not permitted:
       the management configuration for the Vserver "vserver1" is locked.
