Event Summary

This message occurs when a directory surpasses 90% of its current maximum directory size or when a directory has reached its maximum directory size (maxdirsize) limit.

  • When a directory hits the maximum default or configured value of maxdirsize, any new file creates will likely fail. 
  • The directory may begin to allow saving new writes if there is a background cleanup operation running (i.e. a snap delete following file deletion)

 

wafl.dir.size.max.warning

This message occurs when a directory has reached or surpassed 90% of its current maximum directory size (maxdirsize) limit, and the current maxdirsize is less than the default maxdirsize, which is 1% of total system memory.

wafl.dir.size.warning

This mesaage occurs when a directory surpasses 90% of its current maximum directory size (maxdirsize) limit.

wafl.dir.size.max

This message occurs after a directory has reached its maximum directory size (maxdirsize) limit.

[node1: wafl_exempt14: wafl.dir.size.warning:error]: Directory size for file id 27846 in volume vol1 is approaching the maxdirsize limit.

[node1: wafl_exempt09: wafl.dir.size.max:error]: Directory size for fileid 10386 in volume vol1 reached the maxdirsize limit.
