After ONTAP upgrade the mgwd process is in a constant restart loop

Issue

  • MGWD process keeps restarting with following error:

Management Gateway (mgwd) subsystem with ID 43791 exited as a result of signal signal 9. The subsystem will attempt to restart.

  • MGWD logs can show the following errors:

[kern_mgwd:info:40188] 0x81b278b00: 0: ERR: security_mgwd::tables::kmip::kmip_keyservers_rdb_syncModule: [rdbOnlineCallback]:41: Failed to notify kmip2_client that mgwd's RDB ring is online, err = Unknown exception occurred in DsmdbServer code

[kern_mgwd:info:40188] 0x835428b00: 0: ERR: security_mgwd::tables::keymanager::certificate_callbackHandler: [syncKmipCertificates]:245: Failed to create dirs for '/cfcard/kmip/certs', err: Not a directory

[kern_mgwd:info:40188] 0x81b278b00: 0: ERR: security_shared::filesystem::ScopedFlock: [createDirectoriesAndOpenFile]:106: Failed to create directories: File exists
