A system cannot boot due to locked encrypted disk

Issue

If the disks were encrypted and power cycled the node will not boot. A following error will appears during the boot:
 
[A250-01:disk.encryptAccessErr:error]: Unable to restore data access on encrypting disk 0n.17; status security unknown key (0xe)
[A250-01:disk.init.err.unsupported:error]: Disk 0n.17 is not recognized as a supported disk and cannot be used on this node.
