Description

  • How to reset the maint user password if it becomes lost
    • Requires the system to be rebooted

Procedure

  1. ​​​​​​Login to vCenter
  2. Backup the SCV virtual machine (VM) by creating a snapshot
    1. Right click the VM and select Snapshots Take Snapshot...
  3. Select the SCV VM and click Launch Web Console
    1. This will open a new tab
  4. Browse back to the original (vCenter) tab
  5. Right click the SCV VM and select Power > Restart Guest OS
  6. Browse back to the SCV web console tab
  7. Press down arrow to select Change maintenance user's password
  8. Set a new password
  9. Reboot when prompted
