SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere (SCV)

Description

  • If a clone datastore that was created using SCV is dismounted or deleted outside of SCV, SCV will have no knowledge of the unmounted status and will therefore show the backup as mounted despite there no longer being a cloned datastore associated with the backup
  • SCV backup retention operations are not attempted on backups which are listed as mounted (backing clone volumes)
  • There is a REST API that can be used to update the list of mounted datastores associated with a backup Id which will clean up the stale metadata
