  • ArcGIS will be slow because it opens a file that reads reference files, then ArcGIS performs an open on hundreds of files, these opens contain the locking back and forth for each tiny database that is part of the project.
  • General expectation of ArcGIS thru GFC is much slower versus a local file server.
  • ArcGIS works with GFC with the expectation of slowness
