Answer

When deploying a Cloud Volumes ONTAP (CVO) instance via Cloud Manager, one of the steps in the deployment wizard asks if "Monitoring" should be enabled. When electing to monitor, an acquisition unit for Cloud Insights is automatically deployed behind the scene in the AWS environment. The name of the deployed acquisition unit EC2 instance will be in the AcquisitionUnit-xxxxxxxx format. a Cloud Insights VM will also be created.

If monitoring via Cloud Insights is no longer desired, or the trial period for the Cloud Insights trial subscription has ended, the acquisition unit and Cloud Insights EC2 instance can be safely terminated.

Another option for "Classification" is available when a CVO is deployed. When chosen, a Cloud Compliance EC2 instance will be deployed. This can be removed if Classification or Compliance is not in use.
