Thin volume nearly full despite client filesystem reporting free space

Issue

  • EMS / event log show messages indicate a nearly full thin provisioned volume containing a thin provisioned namespace:
wafl_spcd_main: monitor.volume.nearlyFull:error]: Volume vol1@vserver:67d393bc-... is nearly full (using or reserving 97%% of space and 0%% of inodes).
wafl_spcd_main: monitor.volume.full:debug]: Volume vol1@vserver:67d393bc-... is full (using or reserving 98% of space and 0% of inodes).
  • vol show -instance confirms configuration is default:
    • Volume Nearly Full Threshold Percent is 95%
    • Volume Full Threshold Percent is 98%
  • vol show-space confirms less than 5% space available
