How to unlock Systemshell diag user account

Description

The Diag user in ONTAP is:

  • A built-in default local account.
  • Only used to access Systemshell.
  • Locked by default for security reasons.
  • Password protected. Requires setting password before first use.

Note: Systemshell access is only used for diagnostic purposes..

The diag user account is locked if you get the following error message when trying to login to Systemshell:  

Unable to launch systemshell because the 'diag' user is locked.
