How to identify a mismatch of shortwave and longrange SFPs in a FC-VI card?

SFPs need to be the same for both ports on the FCVI card. The below procedure explains how to identify a mismatch.
In order to decide on the correct type of SFP you need to verify the infrastructure (cables / patch pannels) used in the datacenter.
