Issue

  • The following alert is seen in the event logs:
[Node-02: schmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = FabricSwitchPowerFail_Alert , Alerting Resource = 10008XXXXXXXXX9b/8/11 raised by monitor system-connect
[Node-02: mgwd: callhome.hm.alert.major:alert]: Call home for Health Monitor process schm: FabricSwitchPowerFail_Alert[10008XXXXXXXXX9b/8/11].
  • The STORAGE-SWITCH-VIEW.XML section in the ASUP reports as below:

Brocade_172.XX.XX.XX(10008XXXXXXXXX9b): Power Supply Unit (Power Supply #2) has Failed.

  • From the switch logs, we can see the power supply status is faulty:

sensorshow        :

sensor 10: (Power Supply) is Ok
sensor 11: (Power Supply) is Faulty

psshow -v       :

Power Supply #1 is OK
Power Supply #2 is faulty
