How and when to increase inodes in a destination volume of a SnapMirror Type-XDP relationship

Description

  • SnapMirror Type-XDP destination volumes increase the value of inodes / files automatically on an as-needed basis to accommodate files being replicated from the source.
  • Manually increasing inodes / files on an active SnapMirror Type-XDP destination volume is not supported.
  • Attempting to increase max inodes or files on a SnapMirror Type-XDP destination volume fails with one of the below errors:

Error: command failed: Modification of the following fields: files not allowed for volumes of the type "Flexible Volume - DP read-only volume

wafl_exempt16: wafl.vol.runningOutOfInodes:error]: The file system on "Volume <volume name>" is using 80 percent or more of the files in public inode space that can be contained on the volume
