9.13.1 and later
  • In-place conversion of volumes between SnapLock types is not supported
    • It is not possible to convert an existing SnapLock Enterprise volume to a SnapLock Compliance volume
    • It is not possible to convert an existing SnapLock Compliance volume to a SnapLock Enterprise volume
  • Although in-place conversion is not possible, FlexClone volumes can be created from a parent volume beginning in 9.13.1
    • The FlexClone volume can be different SnapLock type than their parent volume.
    • When creating a FlexClone volume of a SnapLock volume, Compliance, Enterprise, or non-SnapLock can be specified as the new, cloned volume type.
  • SnapLock FlexClone volumes (either Enterprise or Compliance) can be created from another SnapLock parent volume (Enterprise or Compliance.)
  • The SnapLock types of a new FlexClone volume do not need to match the SnapLock type of the parent volume.
  • SnapLock FlexClone volumes (either Enterprise or Compliance) can be created from non-SnapLock parent volumes.

  • It is not possible to convert SnapLock Enterprise to SnapLock Compliance
  • It is not possible to convert SnapLock Compliance to SnapLock Enterprise
  • Converting a non-SnapLock volume to a SnapLock volume is not supported
