NDMP restore failing with no space error even when space is available

Issue

  • NDMP restore of data to a SnapLock volume fails with one of the errors:

Veritas Netbackup

RESTORE: Error: write error extracting inode <inode_num>, name <name unknown>: No space left on device 
Info ndmpagent (pid=2024602) svm_money_prod_arch_qevh01_01: RESTORE: RESTORE IS ABORTED [14:16]
Error ndmpagent (pid=2024602) SVM01: DATA: Operationterminated: EVENT: VOLUME FULL (for VOL_01)
 
ONTAP Backup log:
cannot create file: Read-only file system
 
Warning (Incremental restores to SnapLock volumes are not supported. All files will be correctly restored, but subsequent restores of incremental backups will not recreate the file system as it appeared during the final incremental backup.)
