Why does a VLAN port show an MTU of 1496 when the broadcast-domain is set to another value?

Issue

  • MTU of VLAN tagged interface(s) homed on IFGRP(s) are set to 1496 instead of the configured broadcast-domain MTU
  • The command "network port show" lists VLAN ports with an MTU of 1496.
  • The command "network port broadcast-domain show" lists the MTU of the broadcast-domain containing the affected port(s) as something else, such as 1500 or 9000.
