  • The server maintains a reply cache to replay operations that require the same response when retransmitted
  • The message occurs when a received request matches a cached request, but has a modified payload
  • The client or client connection should be examined if the EMS is persistent
    • A Man-in-the-Middle may have modified the payload
    • The client OS or application may have incorrectly retransmitted a request, or reused an RPC XID
