ontap-9

Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • CIFS
  • Kerberos

Issue

  • After a DR failover, CIFS is not accessible via hostname to the DR SVM
  • Clients may be prompted credentials when attempting to access shares
  • SVM DR is not configured with identity preservation, so the non-DR and DR SVMs correspond to different computer objects in Active Directory
  • Clients typically access the shares via a DNS CNAME (alias) that points to the non-DR SVM's hostname
