Issue

Not able to perform operation on the UNIX FIFO files - named pipe files in the CIFS share
Error is seen in the application log of IBM Tivoli Storage Manager :
 
Received Win32 RC 31 (0x0000001f) from GetBackupStreamSize(): uc_CreateFile. Error description: A device attached to the system is not functioning.
 
 
This is the Windows error if file copy is performed:

This is how that file looks from the NFS client:
